The Name You Once Gave Me by
Mike Phillips

I've enjoyed Mike Phillips' occasional crime novels from the very first one, 'Blood
Rights', way back in 1989. This story, for the extremely worthwhile Quick Reads
series, is not really a crime novel – or novella – but nevertheless involves a mystery.
Daniel's life is about to change in a couple of ways. First, he is due to get married.
Second, he comes across information that suggests that the father, whom he thought
was dead, may in truth still be alive. His hunt for the truth about his origins is told in a
simple and straightforward style that I found gripping.
