Pulp Fiction: The Crimefighters by

Quercus burst on to the British crime publishing scene with the brilliant 'Red Leaves'
by Thomas H. Cook and this new collection of short fiction underlines their
commitment to making available in the UK high quality American crime stories.
Harlan Coben furnishes a brief introduction to a gathering of (mostly) little known
work by such masters as Erle Stanley Gardner, Horace McCoy, Dashiell Hammett,
Raymond Chandler and Cornell Woolrich. There are also entries from writers
otherwise unfamiliar to me, such as William Rollins Jr and (although apparently he
once won an Oscar) Charles G. Booth. A very worthwhile anthology.
