Linda Regan's second mystery sees the welcome return of likeable DI Paul Banham.
The tone of this novel is, however, noticeably darker than that of its predecessor,
'Behind You!'. The setting is Soho, the ambience sleazy. During the opening scene in
a strip club in 1988, a killing takes place in the presence of a group of strippers. The
impact of the crime is felt years later when a serial killer starts to target the girls.
Banham investigates, while at the same time trying to rebuild the relationship with DS
Alison Grainger which he did his best to mess up in the earlier novel. Regan is a
writer well worth keeping an eye on.
