Manhunt: The 12-day Chase for Abrahm Lincoln's Killer by

This bulky non-fiction book has a self-explanatory sub-title - 'the 12-day chase for
Abraham Lincoln's killer' – which nevertheless does not give a complete impression
of the massive scale of the author's researches. James L. Swanson is an American
lawyer who has long been fascinated by the assassination of the great President, and
by John Wilkes Booth, the killer who takes centre stage here. One suspects that if
there is anything about this subject which Swanson doesn't know, it probably isn't
worth knowing. The book is copiously illustrated and equipped with detailed notes.
