Susannah and Marina were twins, growing up in Georgia, able to communicate without words: nightspinning they called it. But the girls grew up and apart and the distance between them became so deep that Susannah ignored her sister’s telephone calls – even the one Marina made just before she was brutally murdered. Now, eighteen months after the killing, someone is in Philadelphia, stalking Susannah. The events bear a sinister resemblance to those leading up to her sister’s death and the stalker is someone with an unnerving knowledge of their past. Susannah has to return to Georgia and revisit her own history to try and make sense of the chilling present and secure a future.
A simply brilliant first novel from Grindle, mesmerising, beautifully written and intelligent to boot. Sets the pulse racing and the mind working. A writer to watch.
