Crime on the Move: The Official CWA Anthology by

Strangers, as every moviegoer knows, like to discuss murder on a train.
Taking this a step further, this year's CWA anthology theme is Crime On
The Move.
The book starts well with a story set in and around a Finnish owl
sanctuary. At first it reads like a classic love story, but there's a twist in
the tale.
Martin Edwards also provides an entertaining read which opens with the
intriguing premise that `People are like cars.' He's ably edited this
anthology, introducing every single story and giving each of the twenty
two writers a biographical note at the end.
Boats, cruise ships and ferries figure prominently, making this a good
choice for the would-be mariner, but most forms of transport are utilised.
One story even revolves around the very first flying machines!
Two of the offerings are told from the perspective of refugees and my
own story is told from the perspective of a pathologist, whilst one of the
strongest entries involves a wartime pilot and his WAAF girlfriend.
Some of the tales here will move you more than others, but at 335 pages
there's surely something for everyone.
