Jeffrey Deaver - The Bone Collector
Hodder £16.99
The Bone Collector is a gripping tale which takes the reader into
the absorbing world of forensic science, where the crime scene and the clues left are of
paramount importance. Lincoln Rhyme is a cripple. Prior to his spine being injured in the
line of duty he was a foremost forensic criminologist. Now as a suffering paraplegic he is
ready to take his own life. When an ex-colleague. still on the force, calls to seek his
help, Rhyme is drawn into the world of the serial killer known as the Bone Collector.
Leaving clues at each crime scene that only Rhyme can decipher, the Bone Collector
systematically kidnaps and commits unspeakable atrocities upon his victims. As Rhyme and
his new partner, Amelia Sachs, who acts as his arms and legs, race to locate the
perpetrators innocent victims, the Bone Collector seems always one step ahead.
Woven into the main plot is the sub plot of Rhymes own battle to
commit suicide when those around him are appalled at his intentions. If Rhyme has his way,
this will be his last job.... ever. The author Jeffery Deavers' latest novel, is riveting
and suspenseful. It gives a marvellous insight into forensics. The plot twists and turns
and compels the reader to read on, utterly absorbed, until the cleverly unforeseen
conclusions are reached. A very unusual and enjovable read.
