A medical thriller written by an American doctor, who has a string of
similar hospital/scientific tales to his credit.
The heroine is a gutsy young lady doctor, who gets thrown out of the
prestigious Havard Medical School for crossing a senior colleague.
Going off to South America to a medical conference, she is kidnapped
and shot. A Chicago private eye and a dying medical researcher in
Central Africa compound the plot – it makes my medical career sound
pretty tame. A Mills-and-Boon doctor/nurse romance this ain't, but the
author does some good work by adding a postscript pleading for more
organ donors and giving useful (US) addresses for more information.
