London Noir: Capital Crime Fiction by

A paperback collection of seventeen short stories, each sited in London. As
this type of fiction is so varied, it is impossible to review them individually.
All that can be said is that some were interesting, others seemed so pointless
that one can only wonder why they were chosen - or even written in the first
place.
Most of them concern the low-life end of London's inhabitants, which is
reasonable in a book sub-titled 'Capital Crime Fiction'. Also unsurprisingly,
many have a good measure of obscenity and violence in language and
behaviour. Not a book I would voluntarily wish to read and certainly not
wish to pay nine quid for, but presumably there are people out there who
want to read about the seamier side of life and death in England's capital.
