Dirty Work
The plot of Dirty Work is set among London's 'caring'
professionals and gay community.
Murder of Suicide?
No one seems to care - but Jo won't let it rest when Karen, a
young lesbian, is found dead in a hostel for the homeless. Advice form Jo's housemates
(queer and straight), comfort from police sergeant Jane (an ex-lover) and steamy sex with
a prime suspect all figure in the investigation. Finally, Karen's intimates and enemies
lead the way to a solution that challenges even Jo's wit and stamina.
Dirty Work is a novel of lesbian amateur sleuthing at it's
snappy best.
"After the smoky heat of the club, the cold night air
filled my brain with oxygen and I took in what Charlotte had said. I leant against the
wall, shaking a little. ...I was convinced she was lying, at least about Liz. Sometimes
you have to trust your guts, and mine said Liz was not involved in dealing drugs."
'a real page turner... filled with interesting characters... For anyone who enjoys good
lesbian detective fiction.' Penny Shand, Gay Community News (Ireland)
