Anna
Lee, Private Investigator at Brierly Security, is stifled by their mean-minded
respectability. She is now merely a saleswoman of burglar alarms with no gaps in her diary
for any surprises. Until, that is, she meets an American client, Lara Crowther, for a game
of tennis. Lara employs Anna to trace some missing knitwear - and then the missing
daughter of its designer.
The tangled skein has loose ends both sides of the Atlantic and Anna, glad to leave the
muddle of her own life in London, finds herself in Florida, playing a dangerous game whose
rules she does not know, and where, under the glitter and the suntans, evil intent
flourishes.
"Whirling plot... inimitable pace and zest" John Coleman, Sunday Times
"Anna Lee is back... headstrong, volatile, aggressively independent, street-sharp,
witty, soft and beguiling. A fizzing return." Marcel Berlins, The Times
Winner of the Crime Writer's Association Silver
Dagger Award
Bad Company
Anna Lee ... junior Private Investigator at Brierly Security wants
to get her teeth into a decent assignment.
Her wish is answered, but not in quite the way she imagined. Kidnapped with a hysterical
teenager on a routine watch-and-follow job, Anna uses her considerable skills to find out
why.
As Anna's loyal colleagues race against a deadline to rescue her - and in their spare time
too - they discover the abduction is linked to a big underworld murder in London. But can
they prevent a gangland bloodbath and reach Anna in time?
"Wonderfully alive, truly tense. A winner" The Times
"With her second Anna Lee novel, Liza Cody has cleared a space for a vintage
series on the crime fiction bookshelves" Cosmopolitan
"Anna Lee is unputdownable" Sunday Times
Head Case
Thea Hahn is a highly gifted child, exceptional in mathematics, astrophysics
and chess. But Thea has disappeared, and her chilly parents are very worried. They want
their sixteen-year-old daughter back home. What they don't want is any fuss, any
embarrassment.
They hire Anna Lee to find her. When Thea turns up, however, she seems deranged and is
raving about murder. Soon, she becomes the prime suspect in a very nasty killing. Anna
knows she must win Thea's trust and find a way into her brilliant, disturbed mind if she
is to be saved...
"Anna Lee is doubly unputdownable, by caustic yet tender temperament and as the
hub of whirling good fiction's" John Coleman, Sunday Times
"One of our most inventive crime writers... a most satisfying read"
Christopher Pym, Punch
"A very moving story.... The strength of the book lies above all in Anna Lee and
in the genuine flair and skill of the conception and writing. Liza Cody is the most
exciting crime fiction writer to have appeared for years" F.E.Pardoe, Birmingham

Stalker
Anna Lee.... Private Investigator at Brierly Securities where account books are
even more important than case files.
The search for Edward Marshall, a missing furniture dealer, is routine until Anna's
painstaking enquiries uncover him as a fraud, poacher, conman and lecher - yet seemingly a
man without a shadow. The trail leads dogged Anna out of London and to a gruesome
discovery on Exmoor....
But exactly whose is the grinning skeleton with a crossbow bolt between its ribs? Why are
the Metropolitan Police so slow to make a positive identification? Why is Edward's
unhelpful wife so ill at ease with her mysterious minders? And while Anna is stalking a
murderer, who has her in their deadly sights?
"Electric with suspense, fast and funny... As a satisfying offbeat story, this is
hard to beat" Publishers Weekly
"Brilliant scenes, wonderful creation of different atmospheres, great minor
characters lovingly portrayed" Times Literary Supplement
"A third and welcome outgoing for Anna Lee, gutsily natural-acting
investigator" Sunday Times
Under Contract
Anna Lee, Brierly Security's only female Private Investigator, is
sick-and-tired of being the butt of everyone's jokes - from her new clients to her
all-male colleagues.
This time, Anna has been commandeered into providing the professional security for
flamboyant rock star Shona Una, embarking on a major tour with her bizarre entourage, none
of whom take her seriously.
Anna is up against a hostile silence as she struggles to make sense of the extraordinary
music world, its off characters and strange relationships. Even more alarming is her
discovery of Shona's sordid past and her need for greater protection than anyone could
have imagined.
"All described with chilling detail" Financial Times

Nut
Winner of the CWA Silver Dagger
Award
Big, ugly and irresistible, Eva Wylie is a female wrestler with criminal
tendencies and a wicked tongue. "Unquestionably mad, bad and dangerous to know,
but in the end, it is not surprising that Anna Lee tries to recruit her. The seeds of a
fruitful fictional collaboration have been sown, and if Cody continues in this vein, the
combination should be explosive." Times Literary Supplement
"A splendid new heroine rampages on to the crime scene to the roar of the
wrestling crowd." Mail On Sunday
Monkey Wrench In another ferocious and
fast-moving adventure Eva Wylie finds herself in the twilight world of prostitutes
and punters, and on the wrong side of the law - where even Anna Lee is impotent against
her lunatic logic.
