About The Author John Clute is one of the most highly respected critics in the science fiction field, for which he has won numerous awards. In addition to writing many acclaimed essays and articles, he edited and contributed to both The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and The Encyclopedia of Fantasy, both landmark works of reference. He moved from Canada, where he was born, in 1969 and now lives in London.
