Dee is a solicitor in a women-only law firm, engaged to get Carlos, a young Chilean exile, released from mental hospital. In search of an expert witness for the tribunal she meets consultant David Blake. Events take an unexpected turn when the bodies of Carlos and David's wife, top journalist Amanda Finch, turn up in compromising circumstances in a lonely country cottage. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hannah Wakefield was raised in Massachusetts and educated at Tufts and Berkeley. She visited London in the mid-70's intending to stay a couple of weeks and has lived there ever since. Her two previous novels featuring Dee Street are A February Mourning and The Price You Pay. Her adaptation of A February Mourning was broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
