'Unique in science fiction' Brian Aldiss & David Wingrove, Trillion Year Spree
'In the rapidly shrinking world of hard SF, Benford is just about the best novelist now at work' Washington Post
'Benford is one of the most literate of the contemporary masters of the genre, with nuts-and-bolts SF merging into the aura of philosophical conjecture with seamless compulsion' The Times
'Probably the finest writer of hard science fiction practising today' Interzone
'Mr. Benford is a rarity: a scientist who writes with verve and insight, not only about black holes and cosmic strings, but about human desires and fears' New York Times Book Review
'Challenging - that's about the best way to describe any Gregory Benford novel' SFX
'The most adult, human and intelligently characterised novel of science and scientists since Fred Hoyle's A For Andromeda. Few scientists write this well, which is a pity, because scientists write the best science fiction' M. John Harrison
