| About The Author In her own words... When I was a kid, my aunt taught me a couple of tap dance steps, but it was only two decades later that I took it up seriously, and I loved every minute of it - until a back injury forced me to stop. I found myself temporarily confined to a wheelchair. My husband went on extended leave from work so that he could look after our child and do the housework for as long as it took my back to heal. Thus, I had the luxury of plenty of time, but only limited options of things to do. I soon got tired of reading, watching TV and rolling in misery. Hadn't I always harboured the wish to write a mystery? Once my enthusiasm was sparkled, I forgot the crippling pain and was drawn into the life of my heroine Jessica, who is a far better tap dancer than I could ever have become. I grew up in Germany. During my student years in Heidelberg, I met my husband Joachim, a physicist. Our daughter Natalie was born in 1991. I worked at the Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics and at a translation agency. Reading in foreign languages is my passion, closely followed by playing the piano, writing music, dancing, singing when nobody listens and trying new recipes. I live in the German countryside and enjoy my frequent research trips to London. I am currently writing A Crime of Compassion, the next Inspector Terry Mystery, and co-authoring a thriller with best-selling author Karen Wiesner. | Bibliography |
